I love Antique Swedish Mora clocks.

Those delightful Gustavian painted treasures with curvy cases,
little carved details and tons of charm and character.
Green, blue, white, gold, turquoise...
I love them in all their colors shapes and sizes.

(google)
They have such incredible charm.
Antique Mora Clocks are expensive but several years ago while
in Walmart we found a clock that had similar lines and details
and a very reasonable price.
I think it was around $100 at that time.
Knowing if it was painted it would fit perfectly in my shabby little cottage
it came home with us

I thought about the perfect color for it...
white, pale green, Gustavian blue maybe...

Finally, the other day, it got a new look.

A little French Linen chalk paint
a bit of dark wax
and a little unintentional distressing
that happened while rubbing the wax in

It came out so charming
I am loving it!
I had to use a primer on this piece-
the underneath stained color was bleeding through.
Two coats of paint and then the dark wax-
and a little clear wax in some areas as well for a little more shine to the finish.

Loving the French linen ~ it is a perfect soft gray color.
I have had a hard time finding a suitable shade of gray
that was not leaning towards blue or wasn't gray enough etc.
This is a gorgeous creamy color and the finish is absolutely vintage feeling

I am not 100% finished with it yet
I have had company the past couple of days so I am behind on everything
projects, blog surfing, etc.
I'll be coming by soon to say hello and see what you have all been up to!
See you later today for Feathered Nest Friday!
