A Table For Two

Happy Valentines Day everyone!!

I love to indulge my romantic side a bit
and what better time to do that than Valentines Day.

A day to celebrate all things Love and Romantic
My husband and I are planning a romantic getaway coming up
but with school, and busy schedules it might be a little while before it happens.
So, for now-Valentines for the kids and a romantic table for two
with sweet strawberries, a glass of wine & quiet conversation
for us is perfect.

The weather here today was absolutely beautiful~ it felt so much like Spring
and it was invigorating to be outside setting a table. Cannot wait for Spring to get here!

Love love love this pattern
I love that this set of flatware looks collected and that you can easily mix
in other pieces if you would like to.

The knives are my favorite pattern in this set~ so pretty.

I set up the table in a quiet spot on our property where there are mixed cedars, pines and fruit trees
Nestled between the trees there is a little grassy area which was perfect.

Adore the mix of spray roses and stock~ beautiful and they smell amazing

I guess they smell amazing enough to have caught the attention of a few locals.

I snapped these photos and then went inside for a few minutes to transfer the photos
Next thing I hear are my daughter and husband are yelling to me
that I better get outside and get the flowers before the deer do

I went outside and found nearly a dozen deer in our yard right near the table.
It's not unusual to find deer in the yard- they walk through and nibble on things often
but they have been getting a bit brazen lately.

A few more minutes- I probably would have caught them enjoying a nice lunch
for Valentines Day.  I have to admit~ it would have been a fantastic picture!
:)

So anyway, the photos were wrapped up a bit earlier than planned today
but you get the idea.
Are you ready for Valentines Day?  Anything special planned?

See you this afternoon for Feathered Nest Friday

  1. Very pretty setting, Courtney! The deer would have made for a cute picture, although I'm sure you wouldn't have been thrilled to have them near your dishes and things. I'm making a favorite dinner for us tomorrow night and a new dessert that I'm hoping {fingers crossed} is the highlight. It involves cannoli filling, so I'm 50% ahead of the game. : )

  6. OOhh would have luved to see them. When we first moved near the Greenway, we had deer visiting nightly. But now it has gotten so 'built' up, that we don;t see them anymore. Just the occasional fox, coyote or little bunny.
Our specail plans.. a bed side picnic for 2.. cheese, grapes, wine, bread and dipping oil, strawberries and cream and chocolate of course.
    have a wonderful day!
    Hugs, Gee

  7. Sometimes staying at home and just appreciating each other (AND all that beauty around you!) is just a perfectly romantic way to spend a special day, Courtney. :) Don't you just love watching the deer meander through your yard? We've been feeding our all winter. :) Happy Valentine's Day to you, sweetie!
