Summer Party Inspiration

Yes, I love Summer.  LOVE.
Sunshine, my toes in the sand at the beach and lots of relaxing.
It's my favorite time of year  and one of my favorite things about Summer
are those delightful warm Summer evenings.
Perfect for dining outdoors, sitting out next to a bonfire
and for hosting parties and get togethers with family and friends under the stars.

We usually have a get together for the 4th of July
with a few friends to celebrate America's birthday before everyone heads
into town to watch the big firework show.

This months Lowes Creative Ideas challenge was for an outdoor party or 4th of July party inspiration
so I set up a simple table on the patio and incorporated some of the Summer party ideas
I found at Lowes.

Lighting is always one of the first things that I think of when it comes to party planning
I found several great options at Lowes for ambient lighting like these lights
strung along the tree.

The larger Chinese lantern lights I found are solar powered
I love that they don't require any on and off- they just charge up during the day and come on in the evening

A big 15 gallon galvanized tub filled with ice
is perfect for holding water bottles and keeping them chilled

For the table- I brought in a few whimsical touches
with tree round slice chargers for the plates, old jars filled with candles

and that old fishing creel filled with a mason jar of water
 and flowers for a centerpiece

The dining table got a new look-with a fresh coat of paint and a little change
~ more on that in another post.

and for a Summer inspired rug - simply a drop cloth painted with red stripes

You can find more inspiration over at the Lowes Creative Ideas blog
and by signing up for the Lowes Creative Ideas Magazine~ it's FREE and filled with
tons of great ideas.
They even have an app for it in the app store now too
where you will find some of the Creative Ideas Bloggers projects featured from time to time.

I am thrilled to be a member of the Lowes Creative Ideas Creators and Influencers Network

and am provided with gift cards for my projects & for my work.

All ideas, opinions and designs are my own of course!
